Strengthening Indonesia’s Digital Identity Through Collaboration

As the creative economy and digital technology continue to evolve, identity has become an important part of how Indonesian works are recognized and developed in the digital space.
PANDI held a meeting with the Ministry of Creative Economy to discuss opportunities for collaboration in strengthening Indonesia’s intellectual property (IP) through technology, digital identity, and the development of the creative economy ecosystem.
The discussion looked beyond technology as simply a tool. It also explored how technology can support the development of a digital identity that represents Indonesia’s creativity, culture, and intellectual property.
One of the topics discussed was support for the implementation of the 8 Asta Ekraf. Collaboration between technology and the creative economy is expected to create more opportunities for creative communities to develop, protect, and introduce their work in the digital space.
The development of Nusantara Scripts for domain names was also part of the discussion. Bringing local scripts into the digital ecosystem can help showcase Indonesia’s cultural richness online while contributing to a more diverse and representative digital identity.
The momentum surrounding new gTLDs and ICANN87 in Bali also presents opportunities for broader collaboration. For Indonesia, these developments can provide a platform to showcase the country’s digital potential, culture, and creativity within the global Internet ecosystem.
Ultimately, strengthening Indonesia’s identity in the digital space is not only about technology. It is also about creating room for Indonesian works, culture, and creativity to grow, be recognized, and build a strong digital identity.
Through cross-sector collaboration, Indonesia’s digital ecosystem can continue to grow while bringing the country’s unique character and cultural richness to the global stage.
